MY FIRST SNOW

More Friends & Family But Mostly Me in SLC

We're still in Salt Lake City. We've been away from home for a long time...and why won't any of the kittens I meet play with me. They all run or try to scratch my nose. I sure do miss Smiley.

Anyway, I got to go on a walk up to Memory Grove with the friends I meet the other day. I heard that it is the only place that a tornado hit down in SLC. We all ran around so fast. Subu and I bonded even more. I was going mad running in and out of the creek. Mama was getting worried that I would run out of steam and start to catch cold. But I knew I wouldn't.

The next day we went to the Great Salt Lake. It was like an optical illusion. We kept walking and walking and we never got to the waters edge. It was so cold and smelt like rotten sea monkeys. There were a bunch of dead birds frozen on the lake's edge. They smelled so good, I just wanted one bite, but Mama and Papa kept telling me to stay away saying I might get sick from it. Sometime I think they're crazy.

DAYS OF REST AT THE GREAT SALT LAKE

Family & Friend in Park City, Utah

I finally got to catch up on my sleep. I was so cozy in between Mama and Papa; it was the only place where I could stop shivering.

While we have been here, every morning we have gone for long walks around Salt Lake City. And before we go Mama's put on my new sweater. I've never worn one of those before, but I'm sure glad she put one on me. It keeps me at my optimal temperature.

I met a few friends at the park where we played frisbee. I don't think they liked me too much, they kept trying to herd me like I was a sheep. These dogs had as much energy as me. It's been a while since I've meet anyone who could keep up with me.

I also got to go up to Park City with another friend. We drank hot chocolates and walked around down town. I'm too tired now to write anymore so I'm going to sleep and prepare for whatever is in store for tomorrow.

TAKE ME TO THE RIVER

My Pack at the Grand Canyon

...the Colorado River that is. Today we went to the hugest hole in the earth I have ever seen. But to get there, we packed up in the middle of the night and I felt like I was ripped from all my new friends...it was the saddest day so far. I was so depressed I couldn't eat or drink all day. My family was worried about me.

After the huge hole, we were on the road for the rest of the day. The human transporters were zooming by so fast. I've never seen them go that fast in my life. I couldn't even stick my head out the window. It felt like forever and the temperature keep dropping, but we ended up in Salt Lake City at the end of the day. It is the coldest place we have been so far. I hope this is not where our new home is going to be at.

THE DRIEST PLACE ON EARTH

Koa, Uli, & Tucker

I think I've found the driest place on earth: Fort Irwin, California. There are no beaches anywhere. I walked for miles in the sand and there was no water at the end...I was very confusing. I always thought that sand equaled beach :(

Even though it was a dry place, there was a familiar scent and friends here. Auntie & Uncle from Hawaii and they had three new additions to their pack! How exciting for me, I love to make new friends. One was a gentle giant, his name was Koa, which means brave in Hawaiian. It didn't fit him though, because he was a big scaredy cat. It took him a while to warm up to us especially Papa. Next there was the kitty Moe. He didn't like me much, I think I was too excited for him. He hid in the closet the WHOLE TIME I was there. And all I wanted to do was play with him. The youngest of the bunch was a Rotty named Tucker. He was young pup and I taught him a few things like how to shishi and doodoo outside.

I had so much fun with everyone even though they drooled all over me, but I got them back with a few armpit bites. We went for walks every day and chewed bones. It was the best; We are all going to be life long friends.

STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

Me, In the Rock Pile, Los Angeles, CA

DAY 1: I meet a new friend today at another new home. Her name is Natasha named after Natalie Wood. She is a Siberian Husky. This home feels safer than the first. And we become fast friends. She lets me play with her toys. Right away, we go for a walk and it's hot and dry not at all like my other home. Once we got to the top of this canyon there is a strange alien rock pile with a view of a smog filled city.

DAY 2: We get in another car early in the morning. I'm waiting, then comes a familiar sight, my favorite human transport machine, Mama's ride. It smells so good. I feel relaxed and more at home now. I'm ready to meet more friends and that we do. We went to thai restaurant with a new friend and ate outside(don't tell, but I ate a few scraps).

DAY 3: We are saying goodbye again and are one the road. I don't think I've ever driven so fast, the human transports were speeding all around us. What a busy day. I meet 3 new packs today. There were babies everywhere. I went on two walks near the water, it was so foggy I could barely lead my pack to the house.

PAPA'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG

Me, In My New Bag

We all woke up early this morning and there as been a lot of pacing around nervously. A sense a little sadness. Everyone is saying goodbye and giving hugs. I'm excited, but I'm not leaving my families side. I don't want to miss out on anything or get left behind.

We get in the car. And we are going to a familiar place that I know. It is the place where cars fly and look like big Tylenol. Maybe we are going to see Auntie & Uncle on Kauai again. We get on board. I start to feel a little sleepy, I can't keep my eye's open....I wonder what's in store.

Next thing I know I'm awake again, but we are still sitting. There isn't a lot of room, I'm ready to get out of my bag now. We get to a strange home. There are strange noises all night...I don't recognize anything. I'm really scared now. I hope we can leave soon.
